Today I’m at Lady Smut, doing a guest blog post! The post covers such things as my feelings on the erotica and romance industry, how dumb I was at fourteen, and how I constantly want to fight other authors. Come by and say hi, leave a comment, and let’s hang out.
I’m being interviewed at Erotica For All today! Stop over and find out how I started writing erotica, what my friends and family think of what I do, and more. Stop by and say hi, and if you have any other questions you’d like to know the answer to, ask away!
I’ve gotten the official word: the first book of my Siren Song urban fantasy trilogy, The Wicked City, will be released on March 2, 2015! The book will be released by Lyrical Press (Kensington).
Seven months from now feels like a million years away, but it’s also incredibly exciting. I still have a bit more editing to do with my wonderful editor, and the most exciting part is still to come: the cover! It’s going to be fascinating to watch my manuscript be shaped into the finished product over the next seven months. I feel very blessed to be given this opportunity with Lyrical.
Want to know more about The Wicked City and Siren Song trilogy in general? Read on:
June Coffin is a Siren—or, an ‘aural captivator’ if you’re supernaturally PC—but she doesn’t like paranormal politics, paranormal science, and certainly not paranormal activists. Despite this, she and her similarly supernaturally-endowed twin brother Jason are lured to Chicago, to undergo study at the world-renowned and controversial Institute of Supernatural Research. June quickly realizes why she’s avoided her own kind for so long when shortly after their arrival the Institute takes her brother prisoner and she is sucked into a vortex of mad scientists, conspiracy, and murder.
Her only hope of getting Jason back is enlisting the help of Micha Bellevue, Chicago’s leading paranormal advocate and the man whose wife June saw murdered–also the man whose memory June has accidentally erased. She also receives the help of Sam Haain, fiery, possibly insane paranormal extremist and leader of the Paranormal Alliance. Tangled up with these two volatile personalities, June gets a look at Chicago she never wanted: a city at war with itself and full of angry supernatural people. She also finds herself making strange bedfellows with Micha, despite every instinct telling her it’s a bad idea. To complicate things further, Sam sets his dubious sights on her as well, though June isn’t sure if it’s for purely physical or strategic reasons.
Despite her best efforts to remain neutral in a city full of paranormal political crossfire, June comes to find the only way to save her brother is to face her inner demons and choose a side. Action, adventure, lust, sex, murder, intrigue: it’s a thrilling rollercoaster ride and June wants to get the hell off.
I’m so excited about this project. The story has been with me for a very long time, gone through countless mutations, and now I’m proud to be able to finally share it with the world. Mark your calendars, urban fantasy fans: March 2, 2015!
